Pictures from Brisbane and Auckland

Blogger's photo uploader has been temperamental this trip, so I'll catch you up on some of my favorite photos from the first two days of our trip!

Brisbane:
View of the Brisbane River from the State library of Queensland. They had a display that had words printed on the window. I saw that it said "the river" and couldn't help but take a picture of the river and 'the river!'

Corey petting a kangaroo at the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary

Corey and I holding Kat the koala at the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary

Auckland:

My first kiwi fruit (as opposed to the bird) in New Zealand!

Corey and I in the rain forest in the Waitakere Mountains

One of the picture frames placed at scenic locations by the New Zealand government. This particular frame was in the Waitakere Mountains.

The selection of wines we tasted (yes, we tried all of them!) at Nobilo Wineries west of Auckland

Corey and I overlooking Muriwai Beach

Me standing at sea level on some basalt at Muriwai Beach (one of the most incredibly beautiful places I've ever seen!)

A view of Auckland at dusk, from atop Mount Eden

Corey marveling at the distance between the SkyTower observation deck and the ground. This was taken after our dinner in the revolving Orbit Restaurant atop SkyTower

  1. So did the kangaroo have a sign around his neck that said KANGAROO? What did they think you would think that blue liquid stuff with boats on it was?

  2. NO, but surprisingly, all of the koalas saunter around carrying little "koala" signs.... :)
